Carbon farming expoWhere:  Albury Entertainment Centre, Albury, NSW
When:  8.30am, Tuesday 7 July until 5.00pm, Friday 10 July

Millions of dollars have already changed hands, with farmers as beneficiaries. Farmers who increase soil carbon or reduce emissions now have the option of several methods under the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) to potentially earn carbon credits and receive payment from the government or other markets. Does your farm have the potential to include more than one method when registering a project? How do methods work? Who is implementing them? What are the results?

The conference and expo will include:

  • The Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) is for you if you run stock, use fertiliser, do pasture cropping, irrigate crops, use agricultural machinery and/or stationary pumps
  • Grass roots explanation for farmers - what products and processes you can use to increase soil carbon eg: compost, microbiological amendments , new fertilisers, compost and others
  • Sequestration (carbon storage) in trees – several NEW METHODS now available
  • Solar as a fuel switching option – when will it pay for farmers?
  • Biochar – making it a reality. Lessons and actions.
  • NEW METHOD to earn credits by reducing emissions from your beef herd – through early finishing or replacing Urea licks
  • Overview of APPROVED METHODS now available
  • Advances in carbon farming techniques for the land sector - new methods
  • Soil carbon methods in action - first projects up and running - we’ll take you to the inside.
  • Which other methods are making money for farmers?
  • Identifying the right method to use for your farm
  • Identifying partners to work with – who has a track record?
  • Implementing a project under the Emissions Reduction Fund

Further information, including the registration form, can be found on the attached fliers.

Update: Farmers can now save an extra $50 on their 2 day conference registration
